PIVOT POINT COURSES
1. Hair Sculpture - Ladies
The program begins by introducing fundamental cutting techniques used to sculpt the four basic forms – the beginning of all hair designs. With a clear understanding of these forms, and how they work alone or in combination, a student is prepared to logically move forward, easily progressing to perm, color and design services.
2. Hair Sculpture - Men
Progressing from the four forms identified in Hair Sculpture – Ladies, students learn to combine and adapt forms specific to men’s hair design. The module begins by focusing on general cutting and design concepts for the male client, continues with technical lessons classified by hair length and closes with a lesson in beard and mustache design.
3. Color Design
After grasping the chemical properties of color, students learn fundamental application techniques. Attention then turns to how color combines with form and texture to complete a total design composition. By the end of this module, students fully realize the creative impact of seeing as an artist and thinking as a designer.
4. Design Forum
Updated two times per year, this module allows Pivot Point Member Schools to continue to build their educational libraries. It features a range of classical and contemporary looks, integrating education and international fashion trends. It also stresses adaptability, helping students learn how to adjust trends for individual salon clients – a skill that makes Pivot Point graduates well-prepared for the real world of hair designing.
5. Advanced Cutting
This course helps to develop the necessary skills required to complete your understanding of precision cutting and designing techniques. It examines the latest cutting texturising and colouring techniques and trends from Europe, Japan and USA. It is ideal for experienced hair designers who like to explore and experiment with new techniques and are looking to expand their skills repertoire.
